I have a 1998 Dodge Stratus 2.4L we are trying to mount the Neon accessories to and we have noticed that there is really no way to mount any of the accesories other then the darn AC which I don't really even need. What brackets can I use to put the Neon accessories on the 2.4l block so they are in the same or similar positions as they are in the Neon? I have heard something about usage of the PT Cruiser brackets but I never got anyone to go into depth about them. If anyone could please elaborate on this it would be helpful.

You need the PT cruiser upper & lower altenator brackets. You can fab up the PS bracket to work or get ahold of michael volkmann, he is working on a custom bracket.

. the porblem with the PT PS bracket (which i have) is these is no way to tighten the belt. the PT uses a serpintine setup. if you slot the top hole and notch the side mount it should work but you will have little margin for error on belt size and how much play to tighten the belts. the PL PS bracket mounts the pump way too high, the belt would be running like 1.5 inches into the side mount.

After doing some "research" consisting of looking under the hood of a PT (damn, I'm glad I don't have to work on one!), I concur that the PT alt brackets fit.

Upper alt. bracket: PN 4668446AA Lists about $12 here
Lower lower alt. bracket: PN 4668445AA Lists about $30 here

The PS bracket:

The PT bracket looks way harder to make work properly than the 2.0 Neon bracket. Don't know for sure, cause it was really hard to see... but going on instinct, and judging by the way it adjusts, I think we'll stick with the Neon bracket and mofidicate it, since I've already figured out what we need to do to make it work, and we already own it. Besides, the Neon bracket "looks" stock.

Okay let me try to help clear some things up...

The upper and lower PT alternator brackets work perfect. No fittment problems or anything.

A/C bracket from the 2.0 Neon will bolt on to the 2.4 motor minus two bolts. Works fine. YOU MUST NOTCH THE RADIATOR SUPPORT TO CLEAR A/C.

As for P/S...yes you can use the rear PT bracket...but you must modify it so that you can lift up or down on the pump to adjust the tension of the belt. then you have to use about a half an inch of washers just to line up the pulleys. The front bracket of the neon pump must be cut off and the other PT bracket will not work.
