Forgive me, for I am about to rant.
I have the mechanical ability of a corpse, and *I* can figure out how to change spark plugs. Aside from the below, you will also need a ratchet(3/8"), extension(5-6 inches should do) and a spark plug socket(w/ the protective rubber inner-boot so you don't chip/crack the insulators.).
Gap new plugs
Remove spark plug wires from plugs(pinch-twist-pull)
Remove old spark plugs
Take new plugs and put a thin coat of anti-sieze on the threads. Put plug in socket, reverse ratchet to clockwise mode(look at the watch again if you're confused). GENTLY screw in the plug. If anything feels stiff or binds, DO NOT FORCE IT. The Neon head is aluminum and forcing the plug can lead to cross-threading. If it binds, remove the plug, check the threads for obstructions and try again. Once you have the plug handtight, re-install ratchet and tighten to about 20 ft-lbs(just give it a good 1/2 to 3/4 turn but DON'T give it a He-Man twist. Bad things will happen.)
Repeat the above for all the plugs.
Smear some of that dielectric grease on the inside of the spark plug cable boot that attaches to the plug. Install wire. Repeat. Remove tools from underhood area, close hood, start car and drive. That's about it. Pardon the sarcastic rant, but I think basic maintenance is something that anyone who owns or drives a car should be able to do. But silly me and my notions of self-reliance...
