I have a '97 coupe and would like to have the stock underhood light. I bought the lamp from the dealer ($13 for a socket, bracket and a very short wire). But I can't figure out where the switch, if any, would go. Any details on a factory installed light kit underhood light installation would be much appreciated. None of the cars I've peeked at in the car lots have the kit...

the switch is in the lamp assembly. The factory sevice manual shows a switch on the ground, inside the bulb socket. Gravity turns on bulb when hood opens and off when closed. I have the bulb on my Sport Coupe and I checked it and this held true.
The hookup on mine is in the harness by the drvers side strut tower there is a round female connector there,I also checked my 95 base an the wire was there even though it has no light. So hookup should be no problem. Also the wire color is pink.
It must be mounted with a nut do not use a long bolt (it will go through the hood). The pink wire has a round single constant 12v supply wire.
