I also found it quite difficult to remove my wheel covers (five bubble kind
on 14" rims) at first without ruining the damn things. I found a super easy
way:
- get a medium (6->7") _flat head_ screw driver.
- RIGHT by the valve stem, carefully insert the screw driver in-between the
rim and cover.
- pry it SLIGHTLY to see how the wire "hoop" that secures the cover to the
rim is oriented
- you will see a U section in that hoop. Insert the screwdriver (still
behind cover) between the rim and that U section in the hoop.
- CAUTION: it will literaly POP OFF onto the ground so hold onto it. NOW,
pry the cover off by prying the hoop part...NOT THE PLASTIC
- the beauty of this method is that it DOES NOT MAR THE WHEEL COVER.
- to install the cover, align the valve stem hole. (center the stem in the
hole)
- hold the cover "into" the wheel by the stem. push the cover on all the
way around with soft blows with the heel of your hand.
- make certain that they are FULLY SEATED or you WILL lose them.

hope this helps you all.
